Far Oaks Golf Club
On Tuesday July 28th, Amateur Players Tour traveled to Far Oaks Golf Club on a beautiful summer day. The front nine of Far Oaks Golf Club has a Scottish links-style feel with open fairways and fast greens. The back nine offers a mountainous feel while traversing past trees and rivers. Players enjoyed the large, well-protected Bent Grass greens. The lakes, mounds, natural surroundings, and numerous bunkers make Far Oaks a challenging yet rewarding experience.
In Division 1, Weston Horgberg had a tremendous afternoon shooting a 1 under-par 71 to take 1st place. Following Horberg was Lyoto Bellon coming in 2nd, shooting a 6 over-par 78 on the day. Brett Newton continues his hot streak shooting a 7 over-par 79 for a 3rd place finish.
In Division 2, Steve Hasenfratz took home 1st place shooting 5 over-par 77. Hasenfratz was just able to hold off Kevin Erxleben by one stroke. Erxleben shot 6 over-par 78 on the day. John Remley and Chris Turner tied for 3rd shooting a 10 over-par 82.
In Division 3, Bobby Fischer took home took home the victory shooting 3 over-par 75. Chad Crawford continued his hot streak shooting 8 over-par to take home the 2nd place trophy. David Oleksa continues to some really solid golf, shooting 10 over-par 82 for 3rd place.
In Division 4, Tod Martin earned his first Amateur Players Tour win shooting a 6 over-par 78. Steve Kane had a great day shooting 8 over-par 80 to take 2nd place. Steve Minder took 3rd place shooting 12 over-par 84 for 3rd place.
In Division 5, Dave Parker shot 11 over-par shooting an 83 to take home the win. Greg Coburn shot 20 over-par 92 for a 2nd place win. Brian Mulchek shot 23 over-par 95 for a 3rd place finish.
From here, the St. Louis tour moves to St. Clair Country Club in Belleville, IL on Monday, August 12th.
