Norwood Hills Results

On Monday, the St. Louis Tour traveled to the famed Norwood Hills Country Club (West Course), where Ben Hogan won a PGA Championship in 1948 and the USGA held its Women’s Mid-Amateur in 2018. The conditions were nearly perfect, as 87 players enjoyed temperatures about 70 degrees, sunshine and little wind for the first event of the year in the St. Louis area.

In Division 1, Nate McCutcheon used a hot start to propel him to a one-shot victory with a 1-over par 72. Ryan Keller of Wentzville, MO finished one-stroke back with a 73 and Points leader John Todd finished in 3rd with a 78.

In Division 2, Kevin Erxleben continued his hot play from the day before at Railwood, shooting a 3-over par 74 to earn his second victory in as many days, beating Joe Ortbals by 3 shots who carded a 6-over par 77. Steve Hasenfratz finished in 3rd place with a 79 and David Adams finished in 4th place with an 82.

In Division 3, Gi Watson carded his second victory of the season, shooting a 6-over par 77 to edge out Darrell VankyGrifka by one-stroke, who finished in 2nd place with a 7-over par 78. Doug Simpson finished in 3rd place with an 80, while John Schrank and Peter Allen each tied for 4th place with 82’s.

In Division 4, Chuck Easley earned his first win of the season, firing a 15-over par 86 to earn a two-shot victory. Adam Gulley, Bryce Vandas, Scott Brazier and Michael Heitz each shot 88 to tie for 2nd place. Aaron Gulley finished in 6th with an 89.

In Division 5, Troy Schnelten played a solid round, shooting a 20-over par 91 to earn a 5 shot victory. Jim Rentz and Greg Cobourn tied for 2nd place with a 96. Michael Adkins (97) finished in 4th while Linda Bozada (99) finished in 5th place.

From here, the St. Louis tour moves to Florissant Golf Club in Florissant, MO. on Saturday, April 20th. The cost is $90 and registration closes Friday, April 12th.
