South Side Country Club Results

On Sunday April 28th, the St. Louis Tour traveled to the historic South Side Country Club. Opened in 1903, South Side features a uniquely challenging layout with small, undulating greens and tightly lined fairways. The course is a challenging par-71 layout.

In Division 1, Luke Highley played a great round with shooting a very solid 1-over par 72.  Matt Borgmeyer of Wentzville, MO finished just 3 strokes back with a 75. Matt Minder and Todd Manning tied for 3rd shooting a 76.

In Division 2, it came down to a playoff to determine our winner, Evin Faught and Chris Turner both shot a 78 in regulation. Evin Faught came out the victor after a very tough playoff by making a 4-footer on the second playoff hole. Chris Scoles of St. Charles, MO came in 3rd just two strokes behind Turner and Faught.

In Division 3, Kyle Shartzer carded his first victory of the season, shooting an 11-over par 82 to edge out Austin Shaal by one-stroke, who finished in 2nd place with a 12-over par 83.  Scott Klassen and Drew Vandas tied for 3rd shooting an 85.

In Division 4, we had a very tight race until the very end. Bryce Vandas and Barry Hitchens both shot a solid 90. Bryce Vandas won the playoff to take home the title. Chuck Easley and Mike Scalera tied for 3rd place, each shooting 91 to finish one shot back of Vandas.

In Division 5, Greg Cobourn and David Anthony battled it out until the very end shooting a 99 in regulation. Greg Cobourn won the playoff with David Anthony coming in 2nd. Jim Ashby of Decatur, IL came in 3rd in his first Amateur Players Tour event shooting a 104.

From here, the St. Louis tour moves to its 3rd private country club of 2019 at Lake Forest Country Club in Lake St. Louis, MO on Sunday, May 5th.
